US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with the New York Times that the American military intends to continue attacks on Iran for four to five weeks if necessary.
"Well, we're planning four to five weeks. That won't be a problem," Trump said when asked how long the US and Israel could maintain their current level of attacks.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the Daily Mail, the American leader stated that the operation against Iran "will take four weeks or less."
According to the publication, the White House chief remains open to negotiations, stating that "we should have talked last week." However, he did allow for a suspension of strikes if Tehran "satisfies" the United States.
Trump also released a video message in which he warned that Iranian security forces and military personnel would face death if they did not lay down their arms after the American attack.
"I once again call on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Iranian army, and the police to lay down their arms and accept complete immunity or certain death. Death will be a fact, and it will not be pleasant," Trump said.
The US President addressed the people of Iran and urged them to seize the moment, declaring that he had fulfilled his promise to the country's citizens.
"The rest is up to you. We will be with you to help," Trump said.
