Ali Khamenei's son has become Iran's new Supreme Leader

Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, has been appointed Iran's new Supreme Leader, according to Iran International. State media have not yet released any information about the new Supreme Leader.

The publication, citing its sources, reports that the Iranian Assembly of Experts, under pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has elected Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, as the country's next Supreme Leader.

Following the death of Ali Khamenei, Iran is being temporarily governed by a three-member council: President Masoud Pezeshkian, Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, and Guardian Council member Ayatollah Alireza Arafi.
