According to Aldybergenov, in the first half of 2025, freight turnover increased by 8.6%, while transit traffic volumes reached 14.6 million tons.

The President was informed that over 1,700 kilometers of new railway lines are being constructed and 3,000 kilometers of existing tracks are undergoing modernization to develop the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor. This year, the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk–Moyynty section and the Almaty bypass line will be completed.

Additionally, the implementation of the Darbaza–Maktaaral project is ongoing, with construction launched on the Bakhty–Ayagoz and Kyzylzhar–Moyynty lines.

President Tokayev was also briefed on the continued expansion of KTZ’s terminal network. Kazakhstan’s growing presence at key cargo consolidation hubs in China, Russia, Hungary, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Georgia is optimizing logistics and increasing transportation efficiency along the East–West and North–South corridors.

Particular attention was given to digitalization initiatives. In partnership with global innovation leaders, efforts are underway to enhance the quality and safety of railway operations. The automation of transit declarations on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) has improved transparency and significantly reduced cargo delivery times. The declaration processing time has decreased from 8 hours to 30 minutes.

In conclusion, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of further modernizing Kazakhstan’s transport infrastructure and underscored the strategic role of KTZ in enhancing the country’s transit potential and driving economic development.
